Daya Callan was born in Manhattan, New York in 1951. She moved to a small town, Naples, Florida, when she was about three years of age with her extended family. At the age of 15, she moved to Miami, Florida. where she currently resides.
Her inspiration for humor came from her family who continually played jokes on visitors as well as from stories she heard various people tell.
About my latest book, Humorous Poems for Children
The poems are written in a slapstick comedy style. Our thoughts and feelings are a movie that we project out into the world and these become the circumstances we encounter in life. If children learn to see humor in situations, they will stop taking things personally, and drop the judgments against themselves and others. This ability to see life in a more lighthearted way, provides an extraordinary inner freedom that lifts the spirit to higher and higher levels.
